Trust in Tech, Episode 4: Preventing and Reacting to Burnout

Welcome to the Trust in Tech podcast, a project by the Integrity Institute — a community driven think tank which advances the theory and practice of protecting the social internet, powered by our community of integrity professionals.

In this fourth episode, Integrity Institute member Alice Hunsberger talks with fellow members Kristen Murdock and Jen Weedon about burnout – an issue that impacts many working professionals but may hit those working in integrity, trust & safety especially hard.

We discuss what burnout looks like for ourselves and our teams, why burnout might be more prevalent or debilitating for integrity, trust & safety workers, and some advice that could help prevent burnout..

As tech workers with management experience, we also discuss burnout as a systematic challenge for integrity, trust & safety teams, as well as concrete tips for managers to recognize and mitigate burnout on your teams.

Besides places to find peers and resources linked below, we have distilled our discussion into a guide for integrity, trust & safety workers and managers.
